Bill Frieder's tenure at Arizona State ended after the '96-97 season in which the Sun Devils went 10-20 including 2-16 in the Pac 12. It is notable in that it was the beginning of one of ASU's greatest players, Eddie House.
House earned All Pac 12 Freshman team honors that year after averaging 13 points per game. He would go on to have a great career as a Sun Devil capturing the Pac 12 Player of the Year award in 2000 before enjoying an 11 year career in the NBA.
