Founded in 1966, Five-Star was the brainchild of two New York City basketball junkies, Howard Garfinkel and Will Klein, who shared a common passion and purpose: To create a top-notch teaching camp and help kids improve their games
Russell "Sox" Walseth led his Colorado Buffaloes team to a 21-7 overall record during the 1968-1969 season. The Buffs went 10-4 in the Big 8 winning the regular season championship. That was good enough to get an invite to the NCAA Tournament where they would beat Colorado State before falling to Texas A&M.
Colorado would finish the season ranked #18 in the AP Poll.
