The 1981-1982 Florida State season was a collection of near misses. Led by future NBA guard, Mitchell Wiggins, the Seminoles lost 10 games by 3 or fewer points.
FSU finished the regular season 9-16 before bowing out in the semifinals of the Metro Conference Tournament.
Wiggins became the schools first Metro Conference scoring champion, averaging 22.7 points per game. He would go on to get drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the 1983 NBA Draft.
