Danny Nee's Nebraska Cornhuskers entered the 1993-1994 season on the heels of back to back NCAA Tournament appearances. After going 17-9 in the regular season the Cornhuskers hit their stride in the Big 8 conference tournament.
An easy win over Oklahoma set the stage for Nebraska's biggest win of the season, an upset over #3 ranked Missouri. The win put the Cornhuskers on the cusp on their first ever conference tournament championship. Standing in their way was #23 Oklahoma State. Led by Jamar Johnson's 19 points, Nebraska won their first Big 8 Conference Tournament championship in school history solidifying their spot in the NCAA Tournament.
