UConn El-Amin

Hardwood History

Khalid El-Amin came to UConn as a McDonald's HS All-American and made an instant impact for Jim Calhoun's Huskies during the 1997-1998 season.  El-Amin averaged 16ppg helping UConn reach the Elite 8.

The following year he helped UConn to the school's first national title as part of one the best teams in the history of college basketball.  The Huskies went 34-2 and beat #1 Duke 77-74 in the National Championship game.

By the time Khalid left UConn after his junior season he was a 3 time member of the All-BIG EAST team, the BIG EAST Tournament MVP in '98 and a member of the NCAA All-Tournament Team in '99.
