Unranked coming into the season, the 2006-2007 Virginia Cavaliers sent shock waves through college basketball by beating #10 Arizona in the first game of the season. Led by junior Sean Singletary and senior J.R. Reynolds, UVA went 20-9 in the regular season. More importantly Virginia was 11-5 in the ACC winning a share of the regular season championship with North Carolina.
The Cavaliers entered the NCAA Tournament as the #4 seed in the South Region. An easy 84-57 win over Albany put them one game away from the Sweet 16. It wasn't meant to be as UVA lost a heartbreaker to #5 Tennessee, 77-74.
