  • Hardwood History

Washington finished the '97-98 season with its first 20 win season since 1987 earning their first trip to the Big Dance in 12 years.  Washington entered the NCAA Tournament as the 11th seed in the East Region.  First up was the Xavier Musketeers where the Huskies squeaked out a 1 point win to reach the Round of 32 and a match up with Richmond.

The Huskies made short work of the #14 seeded Spiders to reach their first Sweet 16 since 1984.  Waiting for them in the Sweet 16 was UConn.  It looked like UW was headed to the Elite 8 after a late Donald Watts 3 gave them a 1 point lead with 33 seconds left.  Richard Hamilton got 2 shots off in the final possession, hitting a fall away as the buzzer sounded sending Washington home in heartbreaking fashion.

"I thought my shot was going to hold up.  Unfortunately it didn't."

      -Donald Watts, Washington

Good quality and looks as advertised.

Bought these with low expectations but they are great. They look as advertised and I've been washing them and nothing has faded.
