Coming off the heels of an NCAA Tournament appearance in '97, Rob Evans' Ole Miss Rebels came into the '98 season hungry for more success. Ranked #23 in the AP preseason poll the Rebels climbed all the way #10 by seasons end.
Led by senior forward Ansu Sesay and junior guard Keith Carter, Ole Miss went 21-5 during the regular season which included a 7 game win streak during the month of February. Ole Miss won the SEC regular season championship which earned them the #4 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament.
Unfortunately, their special season would come to an end at the hands of a Bryce Drew buzzer beater in their opening tournament game.
